Enabling Efficient FTTP Deployment for Greenfield Access Networks
Overview
A greenfield FTTP deployment in Victoria required a standardised, installation-ready last-mile solution to support rapid rollout across new residential developments.
In these environments, installation speed, consistency, and ease of handling are critical, where reducing field splicing and simplifying termination directly impact deployment timelines and cost.
Approach & Outcome
Veyra Fibre supported the rollout by supplying pre-terminated drop cable assemblies designed for fast, repeatable installation across access network builds.
Factory-terminated assemblies were deployed to eliminate field splicing, with connectorised interfaces enabling quick connection at both network and premises ends. The cable design balanced flexibility and strength, allowing efficient handling across duct, short aerial spans, and building entry conditions.
The use of SC/APC bullet connector assemblies provided a protected, compact interface during installation, reducing the risk of connector damage when pulling through access conduits, compared to exposed connectorised terminations.

G.657.A2 bend-insensitive fibre supporting routing through tight bends and residential pathways
Dual sheath construction (LSZH inner, HDPE outer) providing durability across indoor and outdoor environments
Aramid yarn strength members and embedded rods supporting tensile strength and handling during installation
IEC Grade B optical performance (low insertion loss and high return loss) supporting consistent network quality
The cable construction supports installation flexibility across typical access network conditions, including duct, façade routing, and short aerial spans, while maintaining mechanical robustness for handling during deployment.
The approach enabled faster, more consistent installations across sites, reducing dependency on skilled field splicing while supporting efficient activation of new connections.
