Overview

A regional FTTP network upgrade in Western Australia required required controlled, repeatable last-mile deployment across a distributed residential footprint, under live network conditions.

In these environments, variability in field execution - from handling and splicing to connectivity and termination - can directly impact network performance, activation timelines, and long-term reliability. Ensuring consistency at scale, while maintaining deployment speed, was critical.


Approach & Outcome

Veyra Fibre supported the rollout by structuring the access-layer components as an integrated deployment system, aligning cable assemblies, connectivity, and fibre management elements to real-world installation conditions.

Pre-terminated drop architectures were deployed to reduce field splicing, supported by connectorised interfaces and compact termination systems that standardised installation practices across multiple locations. Splitter configurations and enclosure systems were coordinated to ensure compatibility and scalability across the network, while maintaining efficient fibre routing and management.

The solution incorporated:

  • Pre-terminated drop cable assemblies using G.657.A2 bend-insensitive fibre, enabling rapid, splice-free last-mile installation

  • PLC splitter configurations supporting scalable PON distribution

  • Compact enclosures and termination systems for organised fibre management in space-constrained environments

  • SC/APC-based connectivity including patch cords, adapters, and interface components for consistent low-loss performance

  • Installation and protection accessories aligned to field handling and long-term durability requirements

This structured approach enabled faster and more predictable deployment across sites, reducing reliance on field splicing while improving installation consistency.
